THE EXQUISITE CORPSE

The Exquisite Corpse is a technique invented by the Surrealists in 1925.  The game consists of the combination of different artists to make one body.  This game has been adapted for this project on the George Arnold Building in Providence, Rhode Island.  The first part of the project was to redesign the building for a specific purpose and the second was to reinvent a colleague's design.

UNREAL, REAL SURREAL

An exploration of the surreal and unreal in architecture and how to translate that into a real space.  The project was to be a commercial space adapted to this concept and the location was located on the trendy Eddy Street.

ALLEGRIA

The project was to create a seating design that would be a temporary installation for performances by  Cirque du Soleil's Allegria on the ship, La Costa Magica.

FORGOTTEN SPACE, MYTHOLOGICAL PLACE: A THEATRE FROM RUIN

Ruins are generators of imagination, myth, and fairytales and decayed and fragmented architecture become backdrops to the fantasies of storytellers and dreamers. The revival of the old abandoned tuna factory from the 13th century as an opera house keeps it treading between two worlds, the real and the unreal.  My thesis explores ruinous space, theater, and imagination in design.
